We hope you will come and visit The Textile Museum. On this page you can find all the information you need for a pleasant visit to the Museum. Get information on hours and location, find directions, and learn about tours. Membership information is also available here.

Hours:

Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 1 to 5 p.m. through October 13, 2013. Closed federal holidays and December 24.

Beginning October 14, 2013, The Textile Museum Shop will be open Fridays to Sundays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Textile Museum will be closed to visitors Mondays through Thursdays as it prepares to reopen in 2014 at the George Washington University. Learn more here.

   
Admission: $8 suggested donation for non-members
   
Library:

Arthur D. Jenkins Library
Wednesday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 1st and 3rd Saturday 12 to 4 p.m. through October 13, 2013.

Beginning October 14, 2013, the library will be open by appointment only.

Directions
The Textile Museum is located at 2320 S Street, NW in Washington's historic Kalorama neighborhood, just off Embassy Row.

by Metro:
Take the red line to the Dupont Circle Metro stop. Leave the station via the Q Street exit. Walk north on Connecticut Avenue. At the intersection of Connecticut Avenue, Florida Avenue and S Street, cross Florida Avenue and go left. Take immediate right onto S Street. Continue walking up S Street 2 long blocks to The Textile Museum on the left.

by car:
The Museum is in close proximity to two major Washington thoroughfares - Massachusetts Avenue and Connecticut Avenue. There is limited on-street parking near the Museum as it is located in a residential and diplomatic neighborhood.

from the north:
Travel south on Connecticut Avenue to S Street, turn right on S and proceed two blocks to the Museum on the left.
or Travel south on Massachusetts Avenue to S Street, turn left on S and proceed one block to the Museum on the right.


from the south:
Travel north to Massachusetts Avenue, proceed on Massachusetts to 24th street, turn right on 24th, right on S and proceed one block to the Museum on the right.

Tours

Highlights Tours are free, drop-in tours featuring selections from the current exhibitions. Highlights Tours are offered every Saturday and Sunday at 1:30 pm. No reservations are required.

Guided Exhibition Tours for groups may be scheduled at least four weeks in advance for the following days and times: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday starting at 10:15 am; Thursday after 1:30 pm. Please fill out our online tour form, or call our tour request line at (202) 667-0441, ext. 65.

Interactive Tours For School Groups
Programs are offered for groups of up to 40 students in grades 1 to 12. School programs complement current exhibitions, include touchable items, and are interdisciplinary. Programs can be scheduled from October to May, on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday starting at 10:15 am, and Thursday after 1:30 pm by calling (202) 667-0441, ext. 65 or completing our online tour form at least one month prior to your preferred date(s).
