Gichner Visitors were welcomed in Ottoman houses with sweets and coffee served on trays covered with richly embroidered textiles. This cover with its swirling floral design illustrates Turkish (Ottoman) Rococo. Turkish Rococo style was a product of skilled Ottoman artists who melded the European Rococo with traditional Ottoman forms and shapes.
