Ellison Findly
Ellison Findly teaches Religion and Asian Studies at Trinity College. Trained at Wellesley, Columbia, and Yale, she has published in the areas of women in Mughal India, women in Buddhism, the economics of Buddhism, and the philosophy of plants in India. Since 2006 she has been working in northern Laos on textile design, spirit religion, and the integration of shamanic practices and Buddhism. Her latest book, Spirits in the Loom: Religion and Design in Lao-Tai Textiles will be out later this year.
