Christina Fink

Christina Fink is a professor in the International Development Studies Department at the George Washington University's Elliott School of International Affairs. She is a cultural anthropologist who has combined teaching, research, and development work throughout her career. She was based in Thailand for seventeen years, during which she conducted research with upland Karen people, taught for an international sustainable development studies program, and ran foreign affairs courses for members of civil society organizations from Burma. She is the author of Living Silence in Burma: Surviving Under Military Rule. Her current research interests include the challenges of development in transitioning states, gender and development, and the development of civil society in ethnically diverse societies.
